Phonolite from Tenerife (Boca de Tauce) thin section.

Thin section of a phonolite from Tenerife was also analyzed by Raman spectroscopy. Large crystals of nepheline and sodalite surrounded by aenigmatite can be seen in the section.

The green fiber like crystals are aegirine. The abundant mineral throughout the section is a sodium feldspar. The gray mineral mainly visible on the LPNA section is believed to be richterite a sodico calcic amphibole.
