NIR and Raman spectra of PVC polycarbonate and PMMA

A good example of a polycarbonate is a CD. The aluminum layer has been removed to record the transmission spectrum. The spectrum below indicates that polycarbonate contains aliphatic and aromatic CH bonds.

Raman spectrum of polycarbonate. The red curve is the stretching CH fundamental vibration.

IR transmission spectrum of polycarbonate molten on a glass slide. Deconvolution with Fityk.

NIR transmission spectrum of PMMA. Spectrum suggest only aliphatic CH groups.

Raman spectrum of PMMA, the band at 1750 cm-1 is the ester function.

IR spectrum with deconvolution. At least 3 peaks are present in the CH spectrum to be compared with the Raman spectrum.
